We will celebrate the ‘Holi’ festival at Phool Chatti ashram on 12-13th March, 2017
Holi is an ancient festival of India and was originally known as 'Holika'. It is said that Holi existed several centuries before Christ. Earlier, it was a special rite performed by married women for the happiness and well-being of their families and the full moon was worshiped. The full moon marked the last day of the year, with spring commencing on the next day, thus the festival of Holika gradually became a festival of merrymaking, announcing the commencement of the spring season.
